Beer Profile Legend

Let’s learn what all those fancy letters mean!

  • SRM (Color): Shows how dark your beer is. 🍺

    • Low SRM = light beer (like lemonade)

    • High SRM = dark beer (like chocolate milk)

    • You pick this by choosing pale or dark malts.

  • ABV (Alcohol): Tells you how strong your beer is. 💪

    • Happens after you pick your yeast. Yeast eats sugar and makes alcohol!

  • IBU (Bitterness): Measures how bitter your beer tastes. 🌿

    • Depends on your hop type and its alpha acid percentage.

    • More hops or longer boil = more bitterness.

  • OG (Original Gravity): Shows how sugary your wort is before fermenting. 🥣

    • More sugar = higher OG.

  • FG (Final Gravity): Shows how much sugar is left after fermenting. 🍻

    • Lower FG = drier beer, because yeast ate more sugar.

Use these numbers to see how your beer will look, taste, and feel!
