Cooling timeUpdated a day ago
The software is designed to reach the target yeast-pitching temperature within 30 minutes, assuming you're using cold water (ideally below 50°F / 10°C).
However, in some cases—especially if using warm tap water or brewing in a hot environment—the system might not reach the required temperature in time.
Can I Restart the Cooling Cycle?
Unfortunately, the cooling cycle cannot be restarted through the app once it has finished.
What to do when the wort hasn't cooled down sufficiently:
Remove the Smart Keg from the base station.
You can secure the lid tightly.
Place the keg in a cold environment, such as:
An air-conditioned room with good airflow
A refrigerator or chest freezer
Let it cool manually until the wort reaches the safe yeast-pitching range:
64–72°F (18–22°C) for ales
45–55°F (7–13°C) for lagers
Once the wort is within range, pitch your yeast as usual and resume the fermentation phase.
