Minibrew Brewpacks are the recipe kits required to brew small-scale batches of home-brew beer using the Minibrew; a selection can be found in the shop.

You can find details about each recipe in our shop. However, these packs are sometimes out of stock and can't be found on our website. 

The brewing part on the base station always follows the same steps: mixing the malt, adding hops to the carousel, mashing, boiling and cooling. 
The fermentation part in the keg differs alot between recipes, so a schedule can be found below.


Sputnik

This is an intensely flavoured, big, dark ale. Roasty, fruity, and bittersweet, with a noticeable alcohol presence. Dark fruit flavours meld with roasty, burnt, or almost tar-like sensations. Like a black barleywine with every dimension of flavour coming into play. 

  • Fermentation time: 25 days.
  • Ready to drink: 25-27 days (carbonation grade is up to personal preference).
  • Abv: ~10%.

What's included? 

  • 2x Mixed crushed malt bags (barley, flaked corn, flaked oats, acidulated barley)
  • 5x Boil ingredient bags (aroma hop pellets, bitter hop pellets)
  • 1x Dry yeast package (Nothingham ale)
  • 1x Dry hop bag

Fermentation schedule:

Primary:

  1. The keg drops the temperature to 25C.
  2. Add the yeast into the keg;
  3. Attach the airlock to the keg post (located in the middle of the keg lid);
  4. Attach the trub container to the bottom of the keg;
  5. The keg controls the temperature at 18C for 7 days;

Conditioning 1: 

  1. The keg controls the temperature at 18C;
  2. Remove the trub container and empty its contents.
  3. Replace the trub container.

Secondary 1:

  1. The keg increased the temperature from 18 to 21C over 7 days;
  2. The keg increased the temperature to 24C for 1 day.

Conditioning 2: 

  1. The keg controls the temperature at 21C;
  2. Remove the trub container and empty its contents;
  3. Replace the trub container.

Secondary 2:

  1. The keg drops the temperature from 21 to 5C over 7 days;

Conditioning 3: 

  1. The keg controls the temperature at 5C for 1 day;
  2. Remove the trub container and empty its contents.

Carbonation/Serving:

  1. Attach a cartridge to the pressure regulator.
  2. Attach a black ball lock connector to the regulator.
  3. Mount the regulator on the keg post with CO2 text.
  4. Open the regulator and wait 1 day.
  5. Replace the cartridge and wait 1 more day.
  6. Connect the tap to a black ball lock connector and attach it to the keg post with TAP text.
  7. Release the pressure inside the keg by gently lifting the overpressure valve.
  8. Pressure the keg to 5psi for a proper tapping flow and tap your beer!
